Dances, theater and crafts at the ProEtnica Festival, in Sighisoara


The Fortress of Sighisoara will host the 5th edition of the "ProEtnica - the days of the ethnic communities in Romania" festival, the most important genre event in the south-east of Europe.

The Fortress of Sighisoara will host the 5th edition of the "ProEtnica - the days of the ethnic communities in Romania" festival, the most important genre event in the south-east of Europe.
The festival will take place under the motto "unity in diversity" and will bring on the fortress scenes 700 representatives from minorities, with participation in dance and music programs, traditional crafts, plastic art exhibitions, book stands and printings, conferences, puppet theater, music and poetry. There will be recitals, among others, Desperado, Hara, Mircea Baniciu and Vladi Knejevici, 10 prajini band, Berti Barbera and Nicu Patoi, Mazeltov, Imago Mundi, Cornelia and Lupu Rednic.


The main scene, of the interactive programs, will be in Piata Cetatii, between the City Hall and the Monastery Church, and the children's scene in the park next to the Cismarilor Tower. The event is organized by the Interethnic Educational Center for Youth (CEIT), together with all the organizations of the ethnic communities and the Institute of International Studies of the Babes-Bolyai University.
Locally, CEIT has supported the cultural and artistic life of the German, Hungarian and Roma communities, as well as of the young Romanians from Sighisoara.
