Cake with gravy, fasting

Gray cake, fasting is a wonderful preparation for children and adults alike. Nourishing and easy, it can be a welcome dessert during a period of purification of the body, as it is the beginning of spring.


Preparation time

1 hour and 15 minutes




200 g gray

200 g old

100 g flour

100 ml of oil

250 ml of mineral water

1 baking powder

50 g chopped walnuts

2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Essence of orange

Method of preparation

Mix the solid ingredients (gray, flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar) with the mineral water in which you previously dissolved the sugar and orange essence.

Add the oil and mix well the composition, until it becomes homogeneous.

Grease an oil pan and coat it with flour, then pour the dough, then sprinkle with walnut and sesame seeds.

Bake the cake on the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, until it is well browned on the surface.

Method of serving

After it has cooled enough, you can cut it to your preference for tea, milk or coffee. Instead of walnuts, you can add almonds, hazelnuts, raisins or candied fruits (apricots, plums etc).
